garam masala


i love to use garam masala in almost everything i make....it gives wonderful flavour and aroma to food.....you do get garam masala readymade in stores but i feel my mom makes it the best....giving u my mom's recipe of garam masala...its not too complex and u can make some n store it for a long time it doesnt get spoilt or anything...so once its ready u just have to sprinkle a dash of it for amazing food

ingredients : (clockwise)
small elaichi (cardomom) ,laving (cloves),samudraphul , big elaichi ,black pepper , taj (cinnamon), avantri javantri ,tej patta ,dagad phul

method :
all the ingredients have to be taken in equal proportion and roasted very lightly separately (just to remove the moisture) and then grind to make powder....

dont know english names of each of the spice....those of my cousins abroad m sure in indian grocery store u ll get these spices even if u say indian names...

once u use it u ll get addicted to it...n u ll use it in everything u make n hear lots of compliments for ur wonderful cooking ;)
