basic gravy...

this is the basic gravy.....its quite a simple one...and once u make this gravy perfectly you can cook lots of dishes like pav bhaji , rajma,chole,biryani ,pizza , macroni ,bharta n lots more...
will share all these recipes from time to time...

ingredients:
  • 1 large onion (or 2 medium sized) finely chopped
  • 2 large tomato (or 3 medium sized) finely chopped
  • dry masala : 1 teaspoon red chilly powder ,1/2 teaspoon turmeric (haldi) ,2 teaspoon dhaniya jeera powder (coriander seed and cumin powder)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon green chilly and ginger paste
  • 3-4 pods of garlic crushed
  • 2 tablespoon cooking oil
  • salt to taste
method :
saute finely chopped onion in oil in a pan...
add green chilly and ginger paste and garlic paste to the onions once the onions appear transparent...
once the onions r cooked add the all the dry masala to onions except garam masala...
once the masala is cooked add tomatoes to onions..add salt in proportion to the gravy...


mix whatever else has to be mixed depending on what you are making
sprinkle garam masala last (just before switching off the flame)..
