कौवा : कोयल दीदी मुझे बताओ कैसे गीत सुनती हो भेद भरी क्या बाट है जिसमे जग से आदर पाती हो क्यो मुझको धुत्कारा जाता लोग बंध कर लेते कान मेरे बोल न प्यारे लगते हम दोनों जब एक समान कोयल : हम दोनों तन के काले है बोल नही लेकीन ek समान बोल तुम्हारा कडुवा लगता मेरी मधुसी मीठी तान jus felt like writing this poem....we had it in hindi text in 6th or 7th grade.....my apologies for any mistakes..wrote as i remembered it...n sorry for "ek"...cant seem to get it in hindi....dont know why....

sol kadi / kadhi (kokum kadhi)

I feel I have been fortunate to be exposed to so many cuisines from different part of india since my childhood...this is a delicacy from konkan region of maharashtra. it is made from a sour fruit "kokum" and coconut milk....growing up i had it at my friends' home and loved it.. you can drink it cold or warm, if you like it warm you can add tempering to it as well...i like the cold version of it so I dont do the tempering.. I followed this recipe from Madhura's Kitchen: https://www.youtube.com/watchv=fB4FfYBRfQA the only difference is I use ready made coconut milk. Make sure to stir the coconut milk so that the thick portion is not separated from the water part. Ingredients: 8-10 kokum pieces (use wet kokum ONLY) 1 cup coconut milk 1 small green chilly 1 small garlic clove 2.5 cups water 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp cumin powder 1/2 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp black salt Method: heat the kokum and 1 cup water till water boils..switch off the gas, mash the kokum

tomatillo avocado salsa

This is one of the easiest and best salsa i have found....i googled it coz one of my mexican friends from my dental school said she makes this salsa instead of guacamole as it lasts many days...i love the verde salsa myself, and this one is quicker as it doesn't involve boiling or roasting tomatillo... i found this recipe on youtube that i love: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kYoG5gyWQk she has have ingredients in english at the bottom of her description. I followed the recipe almost exactly other than reducing the quantity as i would have too much salsa on my hands if I used 1 lb tomatillo and made this salsa.. Ingredients: 10 small to medium tomatillo 1/2 avocado (medium size) 3 serrano peppers 1 clove garlic a small piece of onion a handful of cilantro salt to taste Method: chop veggies in big pieces as needed by the blender put everything in the blender and its ready to enjoy with your favourite mexican dish :) Notes: i started with 1 serr
